Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc (C.O.P.S.) is a national, nonprofit organization found in 1984. The organizations mission is to “Rebuild Shattered Lives” of surviving family members and affected co-workers of Law Enforcement Officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
Harry Herington, a former police officer and the current CEO of the eGovernment Firm NIC will be at the State Capitol on Friday, October 30th at 10:30AM to promote RIDE4COPS and to call attention to the National COPS Parent’s Retreat. Mr. Herington’s mission is to ride his Harley Davidson to each of the State Capitols over the next three years to raise awareness of the inherent dangers of Law Enforcement and to give financial support to C.O.P.S. Harry has committed to raising more than $150,000 for the C.O.P.S. Organization. He has already driven his motorcycle to the State Capitols in Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Illinois, and Indiana.
Harry is committed to C.O.P.S. because, “As a former Law Enforcement Officer, I know from experience that an Officers biggest concern is not falling in the line of duty, but what happens to his or her family if this were to happen. That is why I am committed to raising awareness for C.O.P.S. I encourage others to follow my nationwide ride, get involved, and contribute to C.O.P.S. “
We would love to see as many Police Officers and Survivors as we can to show support for this very worthy cause. Please let me know if you and others you know would like to participate by attending or riding your motorcycle in support.
If you’re interested in riding on your motorcycle to the Peabody Hotel w/ Chuck Lange & Co., please join us at: Arkansas Sheriffs’ Association, #1 Sheriff’s Lane in North Little Rock (501-758-0020) between 9:00/9:30AM or meet us at the Peabody Hotel to ride w/ Harry Herington!!!
